High Rise City Living

Project Description:

Remodel of a 2-bedroom, 2 bath residential condominium.

The Owners had the goal of eliminating the old fixtures and finishes that were inherited from the building’s original construction specifications. Therefore, the work included removing all existing cabinets, counters, plumbing fixtures, appliances, and other finishes, including drywall, framing, flooring, lighting, etc.

The new work included raising the ceilings in the living area and bathrooms and the increased volume adds a feeling of luxury and increased comfort. It also provided for new, sought after storage within the unit. This included, in particular, the installation of new custom cabinetry along the new high ceiling line in the living room and a new murphy bed and closet combination at the guest room which created storage which would otherwise been unattainable. The electrical includes Lutron shades and Lutron Radio Ra2 controlling low profile recessed can lights, used to maximize ceiling height.

With the exception of the bathrooms, wide plank white washed and finish in place walnut floors were installed. The transitions at the floor line between the stone tile at the bathrooms and the adjacent woof flooring is completely flush.

At the master bathroom, the additional space provided for a luxurious shower size with sleek rain head and hand held shower fixtures, a tile in drain and a beautiful full height shower glass enclosure. The bathroom showcases gorgeous full height natural stone tile shipped from overseas. The master bathroom was meticulously laid out to highlight the veins in the stone tile and the layout was also created to provide continuous horizontal borders throughout the room whose layout on the floor is mirrored on the ceiling.
